Inside BearJam: A Month of Epic Shoots and Legendary Locations
We’ve been working with some pretty epic clients lately - and instead of just telling you, let me give you a little behind-the-scenes peek at what we’ve been up to.
Royal Opera House & Southbank Centre - with Company of Cooks
First up, we were in production with Company of Cooks, filming in some seriously iconic venues: the Royal Opera House and Southbank Centre (behind the scenes at these places was a very cool experience).
At the Royal Opera House, we explored backstage sets for an upcoming production - and I even got a glimpse of the Romeo and Juliet costumes (That was a bit of a moment for a theatre geek like me).
We filmed in the Piazza Restaurant on the top floor. The menu focuses on seasonality and sustainability, with dishes like:
- London burrata and heritage beetroots
- Lemon sole with mushroom and English sparkling wine sauce
- Broccoli with citrus and pine nuts (Love broccoli but not so much nuts- allergy and all. Unless you fancy joining me in A&E)
We were filming with Executive Chef Richard Robinson, and it was great to see his team in action and hearing a little more about the USP.
Sustainability is clearly a priority - they use leftover milk from the Opera House café to make ricotta and even soaking raisins in used teabags for puddings. The restaurant also emphasises in-house butchery to minimise waste, and sources ingredients locally, including fish from James Knight of Mayfair, fishmongers to the royal family.
Southbank = Cheese Heaven
Then over at Southbank, it was all about cheese - both literally and metaphorically. We spent the afternoon filming with Paxton & Whitfield Cheese, showcasing the opening of Seventy5thFloor, a new restaurant with stunning views over the Thames.
If you’ve been to the Oxo Tower, the vibe is very similar.
A bit about Paxton & Whitfield cheese it is one of the UK’s oldest cheesemongers, with a heritage dating back to 1797 - even Winston Churchill was a fan. They specialise in traditionally made British and European cheeses, carefully sourced from artisan producers. Whether you're after rich, creamy textures or bold, complex flavours, their cheeses offer something for every kind of cheese lover.
Podcast at Outset Studio, London Bridge
We also filmed an episode of the Future Now series at Outset Studio, London Bridge, featuring the brilliant Casey Cuccinello and Neil Darvilli.
Fun moment: while grabbing a coffee, someone asked if I was filming a podcast for a celebrity (who couldn’t be named). I got a little excited thinking I might have shared the space - and the same coffee shop - with someone famous. (Low-key fangirling).
Cardinal Place, Victoria - Reimagined
To round it off, we were filming at Cardinal Place, which has recently undergone a rebrand with support from Landsec.
We spent the day capturing content around the space and interviewing the people behind the transformation. Located right in the centre of Victoria, this spot is worth checking out - with installations like the Four Winds, the Invisible Compass, and the Wind Vale, it’s a creative urban space with a fresh new feel.
