BTS in August at BearJam
It’s been busy, it’s been wild - so let’s dive in. This month has been full-on, with shoots, edits, new projects, and plenty of travel keeping the whole team on their toes.
James kicked things off with a trip to MAD Fest, where he swapped his Creative Director hat for an interviewer’s mic. He pulled together an epic reel of conversations and behind-the-scenes moments that really captured the buzz of the event. Watching it back makes us all think this is one we’ll need to attend as a team next year.
We also worked on a Middle East project, filming B-roll and interviews in a sleek office in Victoria. On the healthcare front, we continued our journey with The Block series, heading to Shoreditch to capture the next chapter of their story on digitalising the NHS.
Another standout this month was filming with Company of Cooks in the breathtaking surroundings of Kew Gardens. It was an early start, but the light and the setting more than made up for it.
In Oxford, three of the team went on a recce for a potential new client. They got the full university experience, exploring colleges and soaking in the unique atmosphere that only Oxford can deliver. And across the Atlantic, our crew spent three days shooting in New York. More details to come, but let’s just say it was a big one — a shoot that combined energy, creativity, and the magic of the city itself.
Back in the studio, our editors were working flat out to polish all this material into glossy, finished films. Their craft is a mix of precision and software wizardry that most people never get to see — though if you are curious, our latest blog gives a glimpse into how they make the magic happen.
Our animation team also had a busy month, creating dynamic new pieces for clients including Knight Frank and Landsec. We love it when clients come back after a shoot and say, “We want more — but this time, let’s do it differently with animation.” It’s always a chance to reimagine a story in a fresh medium.
On top of that, AI has started to play a bigger role in our work. We’ve taken on some exciting AI-related projects and even welcomed an AI specialist to the team, adding new expertise to our mix of creative talent.
And because it can’t all be about deadlines and edits, we wrapped up August with a BearJam padel social. Admittedly, we weren’t naturals at the sport, but we laughed our way through the games and had a great time together off-set.
See you next time - from your trusty editor xox
