vlog series: January & February 2025

Do you think there's too many, too many buttons undone, or is it it's a bit pale?

I like it when I can see a little chest hair.

Looks good? Right, ready?

Hello and welcome back to the den for our regular update on all the Bear Jam shenanigans from the merry month of May.

May the force be with you.

First up, very exciting news, hot off the press, we're launching a brand new podcast series.

Holy, you got a podcast too?

It's called Creative Minds and it comes from my want to sit down with other creatives, unpick their brains a little bit, get into their thinking process and really tap in into their experience. Quite selfishly so we can improve our own creative process.

You have a safe full of secrets. I need to know what's in that safe.

And of course share all that knowledge with you, my new audience. Our first guest was the brilliant Stu Wilson who had some brilliant insights. Here's a little preview.

To be able to do stuff that other people can't do and to make things that have never been made before, it's a total privilege. Opening the eye of an idea is like opening up a portal. The idea of diversity of thought brings the best work.

The series will launch June 14, date for the diary, and we've already got two more guests, fabulous guests lined up. So please keep your eyes open and we will share more updates.

In other news, we have been busy developing all sorts of creative videos for our clients, CH&CO, who have got a big event next month and need lots of video content. Most recently we've been over in Redding filming their finance team where we wanted to dispel the myth that finance people can be dull. These guys were anything but. They are rebels with a cause and a calculator, and we had a lot of fun filming them.

So inspired by the finance team, we thought we'd dig out a few numbers and stats for ourself. Here's one for you. Did you know a whopping 91% of businesses use video as a marketing tool? Which is obviously music to our ears here at Bear Jam, but of the 9% that don't, the biggest reason is because they simply don't have time. I get it. Creating content that achieves your business goals in-house is not easy, but that's where we come in. So if you are looking to dip your toe in some video content, look no further. Call me.

Sure, it's a little creepy and a shameless plug, but we love them.

Earlier this month, myself and the Bear Jam team headed down to the media production show for some team building, to get our eyes on some groundbreaking technology and quite frankly, geek out over new industry trends and kit. We had a lot of fun and learned a lot, so we decided to write all about it. Everybody in the team has written a paragraph about what they learnt, and we put it in a blog for you guys, so go and check it out on the website and enjoy the read.

It's just a few words, it won't take long.

In other news, we've also got a new starter. Say hi, Steph. Steph joins us as a creative. She has already hit the ground running and got her teeth into some great projects, which hopefully will be coming to fruition next month, and we will be sharing those with you. Projects we're currently working on include a really interesting animation for Osprey, where we're going to break down the journey of electricity from source to car. Daniel's working on the animation. It's got some awesome parallax effects and a really interesting animation build where the city comes to life.

We've also been out and about on a number of recces. Got a really exciting shoot with an FPV drone, first person view... Sometimes get it the wrong way around... Flying around a vineyard. We're definitely going to make sure that we don't drink and fly because there's going to be some high risk shots in there. More on that, hopefully in the next vlog, maybe the one after.

I think that's it from me. If you don't already, please do follow us on our socials, Instagram, LinkedIn. We're always sharing great stuff. Subscribe to the blog and keep your eye out for the Creative Mind Podcast and accompanying video coming soon. See you next month. That's a wrap.

Kicking off 2025 with big wins, big projects, and even a little well-deserved downtime. Let’s dive into the highlights.

Awards Galore

The start of the year has been nothing short of incredible. At the Lens Awards, we didn’t just show up—we cleaned up, taking home multiple trophies for our standout creative work.

  • Two wins for our Visions of the Future campaign, a project that pushed the boundaries of storytelling and visual excellence.
  • One win for Knight Frank European Breakfast Film, a powerful piece that resonated deeply with audiences.

And the momentum keeps rolling. We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve been shortlisted for three Brand Film Awards categories, including the prestigious EMEA Production Company of the Year. This recognition speaks to the passion, talent, and innovation that drive every project we take on.

Busy on the Production Front

Beyond the awards, our production team has been hard at work crafting high-quality films and content for top brands.

  • We filmed and edited Season 2 of the award-winning Cost of Loving podcast for Experian & Mischief, building on the success of the first season.
  • We wrapped up a visually stunning brand film for Botanicoir, bringing their story to life through engaging visuals and compelling storytelling.
  • Our collaboration with Knight Frank and Visit Qatar resulted in impactful hero films, cutdowns, teasers, and supporting content that will leave a lasting impression.
  • We also tackled a high-impact pitch video, delivering a polished and persuasive piece within a tight turnaround—because we thrive under pressure.

New Clients, Fresh Projects

This year is already shaping up to be one of our biggest yet. We’re thrilled to have partnered with Block, a forward-thinking brand looking to make a statement with a comprehensive video content strategy. From podcasts and event films to case studies and brand stories, we’re rolling out a full suite of engaging content.

We’re also diving into the world of financial storytelling through animation, transforming complex concepts into visually engaging narratives that are easy to understand. Animation is the perfect tool for breaking down financial products and services in a way that’s both educational and compelling.

And… a Little Holiday

Between all the projects, we made sure to take a breather. A trip to South Africa was the perfect way to recharge and soak in some incredible scenery. Stay tuned for a few highlights—it was a trip to remember.
