vlog series: June 23

Do you think there's too many, too many buttons undone, or is it it's a bit pale?

I like it when I can see a little chest hair.

Looks good? Right, ready?

Hello and welcome back to the den for our regular update on all the Bear Jam shenanigans from the merry month of May.

May the force be with you.

First up, very exciting news, hot off the press, we're launching a brand new podcast series.

Holy, you got a podcast too?

It's called Creative Minds and it comes from my want to sit down with other creatives, unpick their brains a little bit, get into their thinking process and really tap in into their experience. Quite selfishly so we can improve our own creative process.

You have a safe full of secrets. I need to know what's in that safe.

And of course share all that knowledge with you, my new audience. Our first guest was the brilliant Stu Wilson who had some brilliant insights. Here's a little preview.

To be able to do stuff that other people can't do and to make things that have never been made before, it's a total privilege. Opening the eye of an idea is like opening up a portal. The idea of diversity of thought brings the best work.

The series will launch June 14, date for the diary, and we've already got two more guests, fabulous guests lined up. So please keep your eyes open and we will share more updates.

In other news, we have been busy developing all sorts of creative videos for our clients, CH&CO, who have got a big event next month and need lots of video content. Most recently we've been over in Redding filming their finance team where we wanted to dispel the myth that finance people can be dull. These guys were anything but. They are rebels with a cause and a calculator, and we had a lot of fun filming them.

So inspired by the finance team, we thought we'd dig out a few numbers and stats for ourself. Here's one for you. Did you know a whopping 91% of businesses use video as a marketing tool? Which is obviously music to our ears here at Bear Jam, but of the 9% that don't, the biggest reason is because they simply don't have time. I get it. Creating content that achieves your business goals in-house is not easy, but that's where we come in. So if you are looking to dip your toe in some video content, look no further. Call me.

Sure, it's a little creepy and a shameless plug, but we love them.

Earlier this month, myself and the Bear Jam team headed down to the media production show for some team building, to get our eyes on some groundbreaking technology and quite frankly, geek out over new industry trends and kit. We had a lot of fun and learned a lot, so we decided to write all about it. Everybody in the team has written a paragraph about what they learnt, and we put it in a blog for you guys, so go and check it out on the website and enjoy the read.

It's just a few words, it won't take long.

In other news, we've also got a new starter. Say hi, Steph. Steph joins us as a creative. She has already hit the ground running and got her teeth into some great projects, which hopefully will be coming to fruition next month, and we will be sharing those with you. Projects we're currently working on include a really interesting animation for Osprey, where we're going to break down the journey of electricity from source to car. Daniel's working on the animation. It's got some awesome parallax effects and a really interesting animation build where the city comes to life.

We've also been out and about on a number of recces. Got a really exciting shoot with an FPV drone, first person view... Sometimes get it the wrong way around... Flying around a vineyard. We're definitely going to make sure that we don't drink and fly because there's going to be some high risk shots in there. More on that, hopefully in the next vlog, maybe the one after.

I think that's it from me. If you don't already, please do follow us on our socials, Instagram, LinkedIn. We're always sharing great stuff. Subscribe to the blog and keep your eye out for the Creative Mind Podcast and accompanying video coming soon. See you next month. That's a wrap.

In the dynamic realm of video production, June was a month filled with innovation and creativity for BearJam. We embarked on a journey to showcase the incredible strides being made in traditionally male-dominated fields by featuring remarkable female engineers. These interviews not only shed light on their inspiring stories but also underscored the importance of diversity and inclusivity in the world of engineering.

Our commitment to delivering high-quality video content was further validated by the positive feedback we received from our previous video shoot featuring CH&CO's finance team, among other projects. The recognition and appreciation from our clients and viewers continue to fuel our passion for excellence.

June also marked an important month for us as we dedicated it to celebrating Pride. At BearJam, we take immense pride in our LGBTQ members and their contributions. As a testament to our commitment to fostering an inclusive environment, we hosted the "Queeries" podcast, which delved into meaningful discussions, providing valuable insights into LGBTQ issues and experiences.

In addition to our social and cultural endeavors, we extended our creative reach into the world of grassroots football. We embarked on a journey to promote allyship within this vibrant community by producing engaging and thought-provoking content. Our aim is to create a positive impact and foster a sense of unity and support within the grassroots football ecosystem.

BearJam's exploration of cutting-edge technology led us to delve into the exciting realm of AI applications. We harnessed the power of ChatGPT to craft insightful interview questions, enhancing the depth and quality of our content. Moreover, we undertook the testing of Auto-pod, an impressive tool designed for the seamless editing of multi-camera shoots. Our commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements ensures that we continue to deliver captivating and engaging video content to our clients and audiences.

In summary, June was a month of multifaceted creativity and dedication for BearJam. From spotlighting female engineers and receiving positive acclaim for our projects to celebrating Pride, promoting allyship in grassroots football, and embracing cutting-edge AI technology, we are committed to pushing the boundaries of video production and delivering content that informs, inspires, and engages. Our journey of innovation and excellence continues, and we look forward to sharing more exciting stories and projects in the future.
