Success story
One Station Hill
The Ask:
BearJam was commissioned to create an energetic and aspirational promotional film for the One Station Hill commercial real estate project in Reading, before its actual construction. The challenge was to present the potential of the area and the future development as a catalyst for professional and personal empowerment. The film needed to exude a high-impact, motivational atmosphere, emphasising the theme "BUY THE TICKET, TAKE THE RIDE." The directive was to capture the dynamic life and amenities surrounding the site, using a guerrilla filmmaking approach without a fixed storyboard, to highlight the area’s immediate appeal and futuristic possibilities.
The Result:
The final video dynamically portrays One Station Hill as the epicentre of opportunity and vibrant activity. Adopting a fast-paced, "run and gun" style, the production featured impromptu shots of real people and places that define Reading’s lively culture. Key locations like London St Brasserie and Forbury Gardens were intertwined with visuals of popular local activities such as enjoying street food at Blue Collar and relaxing moments at Thames Lido. The voiceover, delivered with increasing intensity, paired with a driving, high-tempo soundtrack, effectively conveyed a sense of urgent, compelling action—emphasising that One Station Hill is not just a place, but a journey to be embarked upon.
Visuals were aligned with the script's energetic lines, suggesting a montage of empowering scenes—from bustling street markets to sleek, design-led workspaces—crafted to show how the development would integrate into and enhance these dynamic settings. CGI elements were seamlessly incorporated to depict the future office spaces, giving a tangible form to the yet-to-be-built environments. By leveraging existing relationships with local businesses and incorporating aspirational brands, the film not only showcased the current vibrancy of Reading but also its potential to be a cornerstone for innovation and lifestyle enhancement in the future. This approach not only met the brief's demands but also provided a visionary glimpse into what One Station Hill will mean for its occupants and visitors.
