Vlog series: January 2021

January 2021 Vlog – Remote Video Production, Animation Projects, and Aerial Property Showreel

We kicked off 2021 with a mix of remote video production, creative animation projects, and a few small but perfectly formed videographer shoots — all delivered under lockdown conditions. This vlog is a snapshot of what BearJam, a London-based video content agency, was up to in January.

🎬 Watch the vlog to see the highlights, from behind-the-scenes on projects for McDonald’s and IQ-EQ to new showreel edits and solo location shoots.

McDonald's x Ready10: Fast Turnaround, Big Impact

It’s become a bit of a tradition to start the year with a McDonald’s campaign — and 2021 was no different. We teamed up again with PR agency Ready10 to promote the Click & Serve feature on the My McDonald’s App. With an ultra-tight turnaround, our creative solution was to use animation and remote voiceover recording — all centred around the internet sensation Four Lads in Jeans.

To ensure studio-quality sound, we couriered a mic to one of the lads and set up a virtual recording session with our sound engineer and client team. The end result was a dynamic and funny animation featuring a slick mobile phone interface, showcasing the app’s functionality while injecting humour and personality.

Animation for IQ-EQ and Fetching

With the UK in lockdown, much of our work this month centred on animation production. We delivered two standout projects:

  • A bold internal comms video for IQ-EQ, promoting an innovation initiative through vibrant motion graphics.

  • A crowdfunding animation for Fetching, a parent-to-parent childcare app. This mixed-media animation, led by voiceover, explained the platform's benefits and functionality in a clear, engaging way.

Usana x The Gut Health Doctor

We also completed post-production on a video collaboration between Usana and the Gut Health Doctor. This content was created to support Dr. Megan Rossi’s new partnership with the brand and her role on their Scientific Advisory Council. The video brought together lifestyle storytelling with branded content that’s rooted in science and trust.

Aerial Property Showreel

With a slightly quieter month on the shoot front, we used the time to edit a brand new aerial property video showreel. Drawing from our archive of drone and helicopter footage, this new cut highlights the range of property video production we've delivered over the years. If you're looking for high-end aerial visuals for your next real estate or property marketing project, get in touch — we’d love to help.

Real-Life Shoots – Solo, Safe & Effective

Despite lockdown, we managed a few small-scale shoots, with a bare minimum crew — often just a one-person setup. That meant directing, shooting with two cameras, capturing audio, and running the production solo. From talking head interviews to location visits, we made sure every shoot remained safe and efficient.

One ongoing project took us back to an estate in Hampshire for the second of a series of visits. We’re capturing the changing landscape through the seasons as part of a long-term video storytelling project, blending nature, architecture, and progress.
