Company of Cooks wanted a documentary-style video series that follows a charismatic host on a journey across the UK to uncover the stories, craft, and people behind each hero ingredient featured in a signature dish. The aim was to blend entertainment with insight, creating episodes that dive into sustainability, partnerships, and culinary excellence. Each episode would open with a moment of culinary theatre – a meticulously crafted dish designed to captivate the eye and awaken the appetite – before inviting viewers to discover the remarkable journey behind the ingredients.

We created a cinematic documentary series that combined personality-driven storytelling with an immersive visual style. A charismatic Company of Cooks host guided viewers through each episode, using warm, conversational narration that felt playful, curious, and authentic.
The series was produced across four episodes—fish, meat, cheese, and vegetables—each one highlighting the journey and craft behind a hero ingredient. Handheld camera work created documentary intimacy, giving the sense of accompanying the host on a food pilgrimage. Dynamic editing balanced quick-paced sequences with lingering, sensory close-ups—capturing the chop of a knife, the give of dough, and the sizzle of the perfect sear. Natural lighting added warmth and authenticity, while textural visuals elevated the craft of food.
